Older Mechanical Ignition Switch VS Solid State
« on: January 29, 2015, 01:31:31 PM »

What is better the old mechanical or the newer solid state ignition switches for bikes with switch in the dash?
Solid state devices generally have a voltage drop from .3 to .8vdc across the device. Electronic ignitions have issues if the voltage gets too low and will not fire the plugs. Usually simpler is better and easier to troubleshoot.
Thanks
