Just traded my 07 CVO Ultra for 2016 CVO Road Glide. Have an IPhone 6 w/ latest iOS 9.2.1. My iPhone paired thru the Bluetooth , I can make and receive calls and listen to music from my iPhone thru the Boom Box but can't get Boom Box to receive any SMS text messages. Have researched on google lots of other people had similar problems but latest post was late 2015. I followed owners manual instructions as written and re-tried several times . Even rebooted my iPhone . Anyone have any solutions??

I have a iPhone 6 w IOS 9.2.1 . My carrier is Verizon. Tried everything in above link. Unpaired and paired phone again. It pairs and I can make calls and play music off my phone to Boom Box but still no texts!!! Looks like one of those situations where everybody blames everyone else. A shame that a  $40K bike advertised to receive SMS texts won't do it , especially with iPhone 6.

Tried turning off iMessages in "settings" as suggested by someone but didn't work. Has anyone with new 6.5 Boom Box been able to get text message feature to work with iPhone 6 ?? BTW my Boom Box software version is 1.19.1

I can tell you that emojis in texts on my S6 screw up my text function on the Boom!.  Won't read any of them if I have 1 text in the phone with an emoji.  when I delete any messages with them, it connects fine.

We tried just SMS texts from my wife's droid saying "Test" and from my iPhone and several others saying "hello" , "test" etc with no emojis. Still no texts in inbox on Boom Box.

Do you have any texts from anyone in your phone with emojis?  I have made it a habit to delete all my texts before a trip where I might want to receive them enroute.

Just one anywhere in my inbox and the Boom won't synch to the phone for SMS.

Maybe a safety thing to prevent accidents? Or preventing you from breaking laws about texting and driving?

HD on their website lists IPhone 5 as compatible. But I have read that people with iPhone 5's r having problems also. U would  think they could get their soft wear updated to get the bugs out so advertised features would work as expected on a $40K bike. It is set up so that if u have an incoming SMS text message u hear it thru ur headset speakers. Then u push an auto reply button that texts back a standard or customized message such as "I'll call u back". Or an icon shows on ur Boom Box screen alerting u that u have a new text and u can use ur handle bar toggles to read the message on the screen. No texting back for safety reasons other than push handle bar button for auto reply . Neat feature if it would just work!!

I have mine set to auto reply. I don't have to push a button to send it. Maybe it's crApple's wonderful software that needs tweaked. Lol

It is a Apple problem, not Harley's. Get a Droid.

It is an issue with Apple. 

You can set the iPhone 6 so you will receive the texts, and you can prompt the head unit to read the message to you or so you can read it.  The head unit however when it receives a iPhone text, will not do the auto reply.

Wifes droid works fine on her bike, but as above is how my iPhone 6 works.

There was a setting in my phone I had to change so the text would come through.  Cant remember what it was.
