display dead
« on: June 17, 2017, 11:25:56 AM »

Hi all,
out the bike today and the stereo system has lost any definition on the display screen. If you squint very very very hard you can just make out a very faint display. It worked fine on radio/cd and with the volume track changing handlebar controls etc but no display that's readable. The orange backlight is on most of the time but that too goes off although the music continues to play. At one point a faint message came up saying "keyboard disabled" and nothing would work but that too disappeared and all was good again apart from no display. It's the Harmon Kardon Advanced Audio system on a 2011 cvo glide. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Try rebooting it. I lost the display and this fixed it.

1. Have the radio on and at the same time press and release #'s 1, 3, and OK.
2. Press the up arrow twice.
3. Press #2 once.
4. Turn the ignition off for 30 seconds.
5. Turn on ignition.

Display should be back.

Hi, thanks for the info, just tried it a couple of times and no luck but it has put up "diagnostic active, keyboard disabled" albeit hardly readable. ????

Off to the dealer next. They should be able to swap in a head & see if it's the radio itself or if you've got gremlins in there.
