rideing buddies
« on: August 09, 2008, 09:35:09 PM »

How many times have you found your self wanting to ride around but find your self going to the same places
because theres no one around to ride with riding alone is good but sharing your ride can be cool
how many people find themselves in this situation

Not really a problem.  As much as I enjoy riding with a friend to kill some time one of my favorite riding companions is that shadow guy that always shows up in early mornings or later afternoons and rides along on your front or your rear quarter.

Get your wife or girlfriend into riding, her own preferably. My wife and I ride our own and have a kick almost every weekend, if work don't don't get us that is.. We are just getting into the overnight camping thing and I don't think she likes it.. but i gotta give her credit, she is trying and not wining.

Dont have that problem at all, in fact we usually have 3 to 6 bikes that ride almost every weekend!  Many of the guys I ride with I met on this site.  Secondly, if you want to ride with others I have found you need to call others on friday for sat ride.  Usually if guys are in town or no other plans we get togeather, we have established a regular meeting place for breakfast and most of the guys count on the weekend ride.  Since there are so many great riding places in the North Georgia area we never lack for new places to go.

I have a few friends that i can call for a ride. Most of the time i just jump on the bike and go for about 100 miles or so all by my self.I ride with HOG, also member of Jackals wich is another harley riders group and i am a member of TT MC. It takes a little time to get to know people if your a new member but its worth to try spending some time with hog or other goups until you feel accepted. :drink:

We ride with our local HOG chapter every week during the season here in Stavanger, Norway. The HOG chapters are not supposed to be "clicky", it is to be including and open for everyone owning one of these great bikes. ;)

I go on 2 or 3 weeklong trips with a group of guys(wife doesn't like going) so when I get a chance otherwise I prefer to go alone. I'm an early riser and usually have the bike fired up by 5am on Sunday for a 3 to 5 hour ride. No one else wants to get going that early. This way I'm home by noon to spend the rest of the day with the wife and kids. THE MUFFMAN

I usually do not have that problem.  In the small town I am in, all the Harley riders know that we do a meet and ride at 1300 Every Sunday.  We usually have ten to 20 bikes show up and ride any where between 200 and 300 miles with a stop for a late lunch or early dinner.

My wife also has her own bike and she is up for a ride almost any time.  She has a 07 we got new in April of 07, it now has over 15K miles on it.

I also have four neighbors who ride harleys.

Fortunately here in NJ there are so many events, Charity, Police, Fire, Poker Runs, serveral HOG Chapters and other organizations so there is always a ride to find and friends to go on a local or long distance ride almost daily and espcially the weekends during the summer season.   The real issue to trying to get away from all the traffic before finding open safe roads especially along the beach towns.  Of course there is always a CVO GTG somewhere in the USA for a good long distance ride.  Hopefully see you in Maggie Valley in September.
