The primary chain with the auto tensioner isn't supposed to be slapping that much (unless the crank has an inch or two of runout on the drive side?). Oh well, if 50 weight quiets everything down, then the stock SYN-3 should have been quiet in the primary also. What's the story Doc, did the noise only start after you dumped the SYN and installed the MTL?

so did the noise sound like a slight wooshing sound or very light grinding sound kind of medium loud like the vacuum cleaner or such?

Bike was making the noise from day one, it also did on the first one. Switched to MTL still made noise like a slaping chain, but chain is tight and tensionner is fine, changed to the Formula+ and noise is a lot less almost gone. On the other bike the noise never went away and was a lot louder but the bike also had 3300 miles on it, this one only 900 miles on it. HD replaced my first bike with this one which is the same color and model as the first. The clutch plates may be the noise problem as they are th ony thing I can find loose in the primary. But the Formula+ has queited it down. At least for now. Doc
