There are only two things on my Christmas list this year:

1. I have a good riding bud who has been unemployed for a long time. I wish for him to be able to get a job.

2. I have several friends who are battling cancer. I wish for them to BEAT the effing thing. I HATE CANCER!

That's pretty much all I need or want...  I really hope :santa2: can swing that...

I was going to list a couple of options but after reading previous post I realized I was thinking wrong. Merry Christmas and hopefully more people will have it better.

No worries... sorry to smkymtnboy if I pooped on the party here... but I'm just in a MOOD this Christmas season. I've been very blessed in life so far... FAR more than I deserve... and I really don't need anything. But I personally know a lot of people who - this year in particular, it seems - are dealing with all manner of financial and health-related difficulties in their lives.

I just want them to have a lessening of their heavy burdens. THAT would make me very happy, indeed... far happier than any "thing" that I could possibly receive.

I'll get off the soapbox now... Merry Christmas!

actually, you did not poop on the party. i was hoping the topic turned to what we already have and our many blessing. this is the direction i hoped for. maybe, this will help everyone to realize there lots of folks less fortunate than most of us. Merry Christmas

Ehh... that was some  talkin' anyway!   :2vrolijk_21:

UPDATE: Just received my first Christmas present! My unemployed friend just accepted a job offer, and he starts Dec 12!   :bananarock:

That's one down... several to go... the others may be more difficult for Santa to deliver, but I'm hopeful...

We spent Thanksgiving serving Turkey at the Ronald McDonald house in town.  That will get you counting your blessings and get you out of self.

Nooooooooooooooooo ! ! !  I think this is a great idea! I'm not religious, and I dislike the whole consumerist bent that Christmas has become. I have a friend, Jehovah's Witness. They don't observe what they refer to as "The Pagan Holiday Celebration."

And so on that point she and I agree: "I don't think this is what the Baby Jesus had in mind."

Peace on Earth and to men good will.

I mean, c'mon! I own a Harley Davidson! What more could I possibly need?

Let's ask for health and prosperity for those amongst us and call it blessed.
