103 Heads
« on: July 02, 2013, 02:05:43 PM »

Does anyone know if there's a difference between 103 se heads and 103 heads that come standard on the newer baggers, and if there is a difference, what would it be.
              Thanks in advance Jonnierock

If you're asking about the heads that came stock on the CVO103's, those were/are open chamber "hemi" heads.  The heads that come on standard TC88/96/103 engines are most easily described as a bathtub chamber.  There are also differences in the valves and springs, ports, etc.  One of the head porter's on the site could give you the entire list of differences I imagine.

What are you thinking about doing?

I'm one of those bub's that just seems to want know about different things. I've got a stock 2012 103 in a Ultra limited, and was wondering if the heads on my bike were the same as say the one's on earlier CVO's.
                   Thanks Jonnierock

Nope. There are many technical differences.
The 103 ACR head (new bagger reference) is the same as the stock 96" bathtub head with the exception of an added ACR channel in the squish shelf and added ACRs

They are both hemi
One has an open chamber, CVO, and the other is bathtub.
