A marine needs your prayers
« on: November 03, 2006, 06:59:56 PM »

The young man in this story is the nephew of a lady coworker of mine. Please pray for him and his family. The pain in her face is devistating. Right now I'm just very sad. One way or another this thing has to end. Soon.

My prayers are with this young man and all of his comrades no matter what branch they serve in or what capacity. I wish more people could see stuff like this to "humanize" the soldiers that are fighting for the freedoms we have.
Rick

That didn't quite sound right...I DON'T wish for more incidents like this, I just wish people could see what our young men and women go through on a daily basis. When you hear on the news that "another Marine died today" realize that the dead Marine is someones son, brother, father, or husband.

My prayers are with the marine and his family.

The need to de-sanitize the war reporting is great but it will always be a filitered presentation from the news media.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this young wounded marine...  there is sadness and pride welling through me as i watched this presentation.
Our young Soldiers and Marines do the impossible every day in Iraq.  Contrary to the one sided garbage the media feeds us back here, they are making a huge difference.  yes it is demanding, it is tough, and there are a lot of things working against us every day.
One day we will leave that place to its own accord..but to leave before the work is done would be an insult to all of those who have died and been wounded in the process of essentially standing a country up from scratch.

politics aside..  Soldiers and Marines do what we are ordered to do.

The pride comes in from watching the actions of the Gunny and his fellow marines taking immediate action to protect and save a wounded brother.  That is what seperates this nation, and our armed forces  from so many others...

Colin is now in Maryland and on life support. Prognosis is uncertain. I believe that our prayers do make a difference and thanks to y'all for that.
