113 pistons and valve spring change
« on: January 10, 2015, 10:30:04 AM »

Hi all,
Am doing a bottom end rebuild, truing crank, Timken case bearing, while at it would like to up the piston size a little using the
same 110 cylinders, 113 seems to be an option a lot are doing now, what would be the best pistons for the job bearing mind
my heads have been skimmed 30thou and I want to achieve 10 to 1 comp, also have been told by a couple of people over here
that the standard valve springs on the 110 cvo heads are a bit too much and it would be better to reduce the seat pressure a touch, anyone have any thoughts on this, would be grateful for any advice. Ride Safe.

113" is a good option with Mahle flat tops
The springs that will work are either Goodson (AV&V) HVS-6000S or HVS-6500S

I Would Agree With Don.  Let Him Or Another Do Tor Heads.  You'll Be Thankful.

Yes thats right. I have not tried to take a stock head and valves and do this install. I have been told they work fine out of the box. The 6000s has coil bind at 1.200 and the 6500S at 1.15. I do use these springs all the time however I can check the installed heights, measure the pressures, and check for coil bind. These heads have had the seats cut and stem protrusion changed from stock dimensions.
