CVO Street Glide Advice - exhaust, tuner and cat removal
« on: June 18, 2015, 11:55:14 AM »

Has anyone tried removing the cat, getting a tuner and leaving the stock mufflers on?  The 2015 stock mufflers seem to be louder than the 103 motor stock mufflers and I don't know the exact specs.

Advice and help appreciated. Thanks.

that is exactly what I have done on my 2015 cvo road glide and I like the tone and the fact that it is not real loud. i got a head pipe and tuner from fullsac and he emailed me a map for that tuner and I am very happy.

EastTNRhino is correct, and that might be exactly what you need, and it will get rid of the hot spot near your foot from the cat.  Fullsac also makes replacement baffles that fit your stock CVO mufflers, with the smallest (quietest) one being 1.75" diameter.  I believe this is slightly louder than the stock baffle, so when you remove the cat (or put on a non-cat header) and change baffles, it's even louder.

If your going to replace the head pipe and purchase a tuner I would recommend changing the mufflers as well to elimate the stock baffle, the 110" needs to breath. A set a of Fullsac baffles are a good choice for performance and will also work if your trying to keep the noise level down.

My bike is stock, except I cut the head pipe in half.   I removed the cat material and polished the inside and  tig welded it back together.  Ceramic coated with VHT and cooked on the Bike.  I then installed the TTS and had it dyno'ed.  Sounds stock, but runs great.   :orange:

This will help if you plan on removing the CAT from the stock headers. Instruction was based on header part number 66855-10A
