What if a dealer had a CVO event...
« on: April 25, 2007, 01:15:12 PM »

If a dealership were to have a "CVO Event",
what would you like to see, hear, receive, etc.?          :givemebeer:

OK, I'll start;
I'd like a rep from the factory to answer questions.

Your turn ...

I'd like to see it not be a bitch fest in reference to what seems like a host of issues with the new bikes.

I'd like to see appreciation for being a SE owner. Freebies are always cool. :2vrolijk_21:
SE demo rides would be nice.
SE break downs, such as what are we getting for our dollar in comparison to a standard bike.

Other Than a Dealer getting owners to show up for a CVO event so he could showcase his dealership and get us to buy stuff. That would be about all the bang a dealer would hope to get out of it.

What would he do offer to take orders from NEW CVO Customers? Or hope to sell his dull looking inventory of leftover 06 & 07 bikes!

The welcome speech we got at the York Factory tour was great and when the workers and tour leaders came out to take pictures and see us lineup was priceless.

Tell us  where it is and we will try to be there.:)

I tell you what.  The dealer in MV did not even seem to know that he had roughly 150 CVO riders in the shop the day we went for a tour and ride.

Now, if there is a dealer near Nelson, BC this summer there will be more than 50 of us that will be a captive audiance.

I'd just love to be one of the owners who has their bike in the group photo in front of the dealership.  If they gave me a freebie, I would not kick up a big stink about it, but I would not be expecting anything really either.

I concur that I'd like it not to be a bitch session. In addition, it would be nice to recognize the fact that of all the vehicles the dealer sells, the CVO's are the most expensive and on average their owners continue to spend money on them. I don't expect freebees, but things like discounted Dyno runs etc would certainly be welcome. I am sure bike for bike, there are more CVO's with SERT's, PC's, and T-Max in them than any other model.

Mrs.WeCVO,

The closest HD dealer to Nelson is Kanes in Kelwona, then in Kamloops. for those going on the Post Nelson Ride we will be staying at the Holiday Inn which is apprx. four blocks away from Kamloops HD.

I have spoken with Al Parrot the owner and depending on how long it takes us to get to Kamloops he will stay open late that evening.

I advised as we get closer to the ride I will get in touch with him again.

I gave him the website address and information regarding CVO harley.com

Sure hope the dealers stay open a little while for our Nelson/Post Nelson rides  --- I want some t-shirts and dealer pins and they should want some really cool, CVO pics in front of their dealerships!

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,

From Nelson to Kamloops with the amount of bikes (guesstimate 25 - 30) and traffic and road conditions it will take approximately 8 hours to get to Kamloops. Spoke with Al (owner) earlier , and gave him an approximate ETA, which should be about 6:00 pm, depending when we get out of Nelson, he advised he will try and keep the doors open.

Just in case, let him know he won't go hungry or thirsty that night for taking the trouble to stay open for us!

I would have an idea for a MoCo rep. I would ask why don't they come out with a complete line of either CVO or Screamin Eagle parts and trim accessories. Kinda like the skull theme stuff. I personally would love to have a CVO or SE linkage. fuel door, windshield trim, horn cover, etc. etc. etc.

There is another thread where some are creating some of that, without the Moco.  Given that Kury & others figure out desirable customizations for Harley and then then Harley follows (usually), after a while the Moco might just decide to do what you are suggesting.

http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=12940.msg201502#msg201502

In some respects CVOs may not pose the customization opportunities that a non CVO Harley does since they arrive 'customized' already.  Wonder what the per bike average spent is for a CVO vs a non CVO Harley?  The Moco may know this already but maybe not.
