With the 12” OEM shockers on my 2012 SG the ride is quite firm, don’t know why I have been putting up with it for so long.
Time has come to upgrade my suspension; I have decided to go with either Wilbers or RaceTech which are both available in Australia.
Wilbers, Nivomat
https://www.wilbers.de/shop/en/Motorcycle/Harley-Davidson/CVO-Street-Glide-FLHXSE-FL2/Wilbers-Nivomat-shock-absorber-set.html?year=2012Set and forget, no adjustments required with solo or pillion passenger. They are self-adjusting according to what I have read and a few you tube videos.
Sag is set at 20mm so ride height will be approx. 1/2” taller.
Race Tech, G3-S
https://racetech.com/g3-s-custom-shock/Custom made to your requirements and have Compression Damping Adjustment, Rebound Damping Adjustment but require adjustment to the preload rings when a pillion is on board.
Not sure on the Sag.
My current ride stance is flat footed with the OEM 12” Shockers.
Both before mentioned shockers are 13”, I am told the swing arm geometry change improves the ride and handling over the OEM setup.
The fork springs will be changed at the same time to compliment the rear.
Has anybody used either of these Shockers or got any other recommendations?
