I know this might be a dumb question, but...
I had the teardrop screamin eagle air cleaner cover installed when I got my high flow air kit.
I could've just used the stock cover, but I liked the look of the teardrop one.
What I noticed...this is where it get's dumb...that the teardrop cover only has about a 3.5 to 4 inch opening where the element is actually drawing air from. Where as the stock cover, with the new backing plate, seems to draw from at least twice the surface.
Does that mean the stock cover used with the SEAK is the better option?
Most SSEG's I see seem to use the stock cover opposed to the teardrop...I wonder if folks were on to something and I missed the boat.
I've since put the stock cover back on to determine if there is a difference in the seat of the pants...of course that's not a real world test. I'd have to get on a dyno to know.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there. Is the teardrop cover more restrictive than the stock cover..
Phattey...
