I can't wait to try it!

I find S&T much better for planning and the ability to export right to the GPX format is huge for me!  No more needing to use the quirky Mapsource!

'Quirky'?  Bill, you are way too kind to Garmin with just that adjective to describe Mapsource.  It is one of the most frustrating pieces of software I've ever had the displeasure to learn and use.  Basically, it SUCKS.  Sure hope this new S&T does all that was claimed.

I downloaded the beta 2010 MS Streets and tried the GPX export to Map Source. I created a test route from Sacramento to Denver with seven waypoints. The Results ?? :nervous: It worked great  :o 'if you were traveling by airplane  :confused5:. After the export, the route was drawn in straight lines from beginning to waypoints to end.  :nixweiss:.... I duno' know.. did i do something wrong or did the MS Street designers screw up?

Well that sucks!! :( For those that like this program I hope there is a glitch somewhere and this isn't going to be the case... if so then it's not doing what it's stating. :-\

I did something similar, and opened the GPX file in Mapsource.  All I had to do was recalculate the route and there it was, exactly as I designed it.

 :drink: :drink:

When importing any GPX file (from MS S&T or even the HD trip planner) to Map Source you need to recalculate the route after the import of the GPX file which then will save it as a GDB file (which the Garmin Zumo actually uses).

Works great.  If you send the GPX file directly from MS to the Garmin, the GPX treats all waypoints or stops as a new end and beginning.  Pain in the Ass!!!

Send it to MapSource (the most unfriendly user interface known to man) recalculate the route and send it to your Garmin.

Been using it for a couple of weeks in the Texas Hill Country.  Works great much better than trying to plot the route in MapSource.
