FYI, for anyone interested, here is an email from his mom:

I wanted to make sure people knew that after we escort the buses to San Bruno, as previously mentioned, we will escort Buzz Jr. home to our house.. We have some wonderful things planned on our street and then back at the house we will have a special ceremony for him. I just wanted to mention this to you all because I want to make sure your plans include coming all the way back to the house. You will be happy that you saw the whole thing through to the end.
Also, any messages I receive regarding this day, ie: regrets or confirmation of people coming with a nice message, I am copying them to a document for Buzz Jr. to read later. So if you haven't had the chance to reply to me yet, please do. Buzz Jr. will really appreciate reading what you have to say.
