Tour Pack holes
« on: May 12, 2010, 01:26:25 PM »

I just put a Detachable Tour Pack on my Road Glide.  I did not relocate the antenna to the Tour Pack.  That leaves me with a 3/4" hole in the left front of the Tour Pack where the antenna cable was to run.  I need some ideas on what to use to plug the hole.  There is also an additional 5/16" hole in the bottom that I need to plug.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

A plug is a good idea in case you decide to put lights on the back of the tour pak in the future.  You will need a way to get the harness into the tour pak.

I used a rubber grommet and filled the centre with black silicone.  Stayed in place for 2 years (no water in either) 'til I the painter fill the holes.
Anyone asks tell 'em its a work in progress

I am not taking the antenna base off.  I am getting a short antenna to put on that so it doesn't look silly.  I am talking about the 3/4" hole in the front where the antenna cable would enter the tour pack and the extra 5/16" hole on the bottom that I want to seal up.  I got the grommet from HD for the 3/4" hole and am going to plug the small hole in it.  I am leaning towards just putting duct tape inside the tour pack to seal off the small hole in the bottom.

That is a good idea too.  I could use a rubber washer with that, I think.  Thanks.
