I just got back from the dealers (they had a midnight madness sale 25% off everything) and was looking at these.  Everyone I spoke with said they work great, but best installed by the dealer.  Requires drilling holes in tour pak and speaker pod.  Dealer wants 2 hours of labor.  I decided to do some research to see if I can do it myself.

Also requires the B amp, and you have to have it reprogrammed.

Having this installed, dealer stated that the oem amp that came on the bike is the same one. Is there a differnet amp?

The amp on the 2011 CVO EG and RG Ultras is different as it's programmable by the dealer for use with the bass boost kit; the 2010 and earlier amps are not programmable.  The 2011 amp part no. ends with the suffix -06B.  Apart from being programmable, don't know of any other differences.

???Now that I have checked further, Harley does not indicate that this unit will work with any of the CVO bikes. They do however say it works with 06 and up ultras, road glides street glides anf tri glides. Go figure. Makes no sense to me. :nixweiss:

I believe the 2010's and newer have the "B" High Output Amp that is reprogammable to allow the low cut to be reduced to allow lower lows. Prior The 2006's to 2009's had the A High Output Amp which is not reprogammable. Although you can certain do the kit install, you simply cannot reprogam that amps on the '09's and older bikes.
