i was trying to stay with the stock belt and make the back of the bike look better at the same time.

It usually easier and less expensive to change from the 32 tooth drive pulley to a 34 or 36 tooth and retain the standard belt.

That would make the gearing taller, not shorter correct?

I found out that a 1200 sporty is the same belt size and 68 teeth, ordered one from rc comp. looks great and gave me the gearing that i wanted without going to an aftermarket belt.

You put a 68 tooth Sportster 1 1/8" pulley on a Dresser? What tranny pulley did you use? How many teeth in the belt? How will the Sportster belt hold up?
Will it hold 116 HP /  122 Tq ? Got a pic? Ona 6 speed tranny? Pleas give a little more detail.

I went to Stealership ( 215 plus tax ) and got the part number for  06 Dyna # 40537-06 it's a 1 1/8" wide 68 tooth final drive sprocket (pulley- silver).
$165. bucks online plus 10 bucks shipping. I may need to machine the mounting flange on pulley for correct centering of the belt due to variances in models. Should not be a big deal. I hope!!!
