What is the group thoughts on rear tires? Anything new out there? Has anyone installed the Dunlop MU85B16 on the stock rim without rubbing? Thanks,

Here we go again  Mezler Vs Dunlop- - - - - well I didn't start it, but since you ask IMHO Metzler's suck big time in anything but hot dry weather. Just did a 6,100 mile trip with stock Dunlops. Two solid days of ridin in the rain, two days of near freezing temps. Never once felt the bike dance or skid around.

Go with the Dunlops.

I just went to a 21" front & an 18" rear on my seeg. I have a 120/70 front and a 160 on the rear both Metzler ME880. My buddy has stock Dunlops on his '06 CUSE. We were riding in north eastern Tennessee on some back roads in the rain with leaves on the road. The roads were very twisty and a good degree of slope. We were riding the same speed both two up... He complained about his rear end sliding out on him...I never had a problem, but his wife got real nervous about the slippery roads. We stayed on track with no slipping whatsoever. I'm very pleased with the Metzlers. I've never had a problem with the stock Dunlops either. In my opinion there both very good tires. The Dunlops will last much longer due to compound. The ride on my seeg with the radials is much more compliant... no need for me to change shocks anymore...very nice ride and handling...No more lumber wagon since going to the ME880 Metzlers.

IMHO if you want good high mileage tire go Dunlop. I you want a better ride (in my opinion) with a little less mileage go Metzler ME880.

            Having seen you blast your SEEG around two up in MV, I know your bike handles the way you are saying. So I gotta ask, are the ME880's Marathon's or Laser's ?  You mention the mileage figures and I'm thinking you're talkin the soft rubber compound Laser's in which case I 100% agree with you. It's the Marathon's that I dislike. They are made from hockey pucks, but you can run em 12,000 miles.

Radials?  I thought that both Dunlop and Metzler were both bias ply.  BTW, didn't you have custom wheels on your bike already?

Dunlop makes both. All of the o.e.m. HD Dunlops are bias ply except for the V-Rod and the new SE Road King...I'm pretty sure at least. I believe all the Metzler's are radials.

BTW, Yes I do like the factory cvo rims on the seeg...but, I just wanted some more bling from a 21" custom chrome ring...that's what really makes me sing when I sit on the thing...CVO bling is a wonderful thing [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

           You must have missed me puttin Sublime in my RG at MV under the canopy in front of the office.  I think I didn't even get through one track before someone was lookin through the CD folder in my tour-pak and pulled out Creedence.
