Heat
« on: May 10, 2014, 10:40:19 AM »

My 13 ultra limited is stock except for slip ons, what is the best low cost way to make it run cooler, only has 1150 miles on it?

Getting rid of the cat in the head pipe and then having the bike tuned reduces heat quite a bit. I replaced mine with a Vance & Hines unit, some of my friends had the cat cut out and kept the stock pipe. Either way will cost a couple of bucks but it does help with the heat.

Ex system and tune first step. adding a cam will help further increase power as well.

I cannot tell you that for certain. Heath is a great tuner from all of the customers that we have sent and what others have told us.

Fitted a complete cobra exhaust system to my 2012 ultra, forgot to refit the cat  ::) exhaust does run a lot cooler, and feels like a small gain in power. The only issue is if you like your tunes you may have to pack the silencers.

check out fullsac.com and Fuel Moto who have great cat-less head pipe that use the stock heatshields if you want to keep stock look.  Fullsac also have new muffler cores if you want to keep your current mufflers.  Both sell tuning device and will load you a canned map if you want to save on a custom dynotune
