Effects of Altitude
« on: September 13, 2006, 12:41:38 AM »

My '01 runs great at sea level. Yet on a trip to Yellowstone, the idle dropped as soon as I hit 4,000 feet. The bike ran great, it just idled too low. Then back at sea level the idle came back up. Is this the nature of the M&M beast, or is there something I should change or adjust? Anybody else experience this?

Thanks

Nature of the beast, okay.
I guess next time I hit the mountains I'll just raise the idle and be done with it.

Thanks

Ernie,

You bike had Delphi FI. Mine is Magnetti-Marelli.
I guess given a choice, I'd choose low idle over spark knock.

We have the race fueler on the SERG.  Went to the top of Mt Evans at CC without any problems what so ever.

I had a fair amount of spark knock too in the higher elevations...
