GMR 577 Cams & 113 Kit
« on: February 01, 2015, 08:07:15 PM »

Took a road trip yesterday to GMR for a few upgrades. Going with the 577 cams, GMR lifters, adjustable pushrods, Mahle 113 Pistons, beehive springs and Barnett Scorpion clutch. Steve wasted no time getting my bike on the dyno for a baseline run, but my buddy that was getting the same mods wasn't able to get a baseline run. He has <7k miles on his 2012 CVO and the lifters were making so much racket Steve was concerned about making a run. Before we made it back to Tulsa he called saying the bikes were already torn down. Steve has been great to deal with and i can't wait for the finished product.

Yes, I will have Steve post up the dyno runs once everything is complete.

Your going to enjoy that motor. I think it's one of the best displacements for a bagger that see's frequent touring duty. 9 years running one in my Roadglide.

Well one is up and running and I have it almost tuned.. It is running on the lift so the odd noise is from the lift rattling. One down one to go that will make 5 of the 113's  done in the shop right now..   4570 your is up next  and then you Roy , get off the oil rig and drop the bike we are ready   :2vrolijk_21:

One other note , no lifter rattle as we prime the engines before start up.. 3-4 sessions once oil pressure has built up will get the job done. Many work very hard to pre lube lifters and really  why not let the engine prime it for you. Plugs out spin it over. Keep it simple  ;)

Awesome Steve. I am looking forward to seeing the dyno curve on the bike with the Hi Output mufflers. I fly in from off shore the morning of Feb 25th. So I should be sitting on my bike in front of your shop the morning of Feb 26th.

Well  Roy I posted up the 113 build with your  same ex system . Now stock heads being what they are results may vary some. But i feel it did very well.  I will let 4570 post up his buddys sheet if you wants to.. Not sure if his buddy posts on here or not. One might think its best to have his own thread though.. :nixweiss:

Hey Steve I checked out the curves on your Facebook. Impressive torque numbers for sure. I know we can't say for sure but  what would your educated guess be on the difference the 600 cam would make? Peak numbers higher? More torque at lower RPM or higher RPM? Just asking for your best educated guess. I am definitely excited about getting the bike to you for the build.

Well its new so its got to be twice as good  :D :D  I would say that you will loose a few lbs of PEAK tq but the curve would broaden out and the hp would go up.. But with stock heads and stock t/b there will be a limiting factor.. Until I test 3-5 of them to get a solid avg that is the best I can say.. It will not be any less though in a stock head stock t/b build.

A few more HP and a little broader torque curve sounds awesome. As long as you don't think there will be any clearance issues in the heads and you feel they won't be real noisy lets go for the 600 cams.

Well here is  4570's build. Same parts same compression nothing changed other than the ex system.

GMR 113 kit
GMR 577 cam
GMR lifters
GMR pushrods
Barnett clutch
stock heads
stock t/b
TTS tuner
Fulsac CX pipe with Crusher mufflers

And a over lay of the other bike.. weather has changed HUGE since then you can see that . Both sheets show the weather stack and are both in SAE best I can do. SO all in all both are very close ..

Imagine that build with some heads massaged by the magic Mr. Sachs and a bigger TB!  :P
