2014 King Tour Pak
« on: January 14, 2016, 01:58:29 PM »

Does anyone have any suggestion for a back rest for a 2014 King Tour Pak when using the Solo install?
I have a Corbin seat and like the seat, but the only back rest that Corbin offers have arm rest.

Anyone running a King Tour Pak solo?

Bike looks very nice!! From the looks of how far back the tour pak sits tho I'll be curious as to what backrest will fit and be functional as well? Please post pics when completed. As said very nice set up!!

Granted this is not a King, but I run the tour pac in the solo position on my 15 SERGU.  The arm rests do not get in the way.  Its the stock back rest, but a corbin solo seat.  31K miles on this set up.

Corbin made a matching backrest for the Chopped TourPak, no armrests...  :nixweiss:

I was wondering if the armrest got in the way at all.....good to hear they don't....gotta find a solo mount now!
Now that the Kid has moved out....I don't have a BSR anymore.

The guys at Mean City Cycles in Maiden, NC get great reviews for motorcycle seats. I have been by to see them and they seem like great people. They moded a seat for my dad's bike and he was real pleased. They could make a custom back rest if you are interested. I plan to have them make a bigger passenger pillion for the wife this spring. I don't have contact info but they are easy to find online. Hope this helps

Thanks for the information and thanks for the picture Dave.  I was wanting to see a back rest with the arm rest to determine if they would be in the way.

I agree as well that no back rest will be very functional since the trunk is set back much further than my arms.

The reason I'm looking for something custom instead of the standard back rest for the 'chopped' tour pak is the King Tour Pak is pre-drilled for the arm rest.

I would actually be satisfied with a 'bolt on' leather cover that matched the seat.  The Corbin back rest fits very well in front of the tank and I can move the tank back in the mount a couple of inches.

Thanks for the information, I'll be contacting Mean City Cycles as well.

I run the corbin oval back on my corbin seat.  It fits just fine with the tour pack in the solo position.  The arms do not get in the way, and on a long trip I will move and arm back and rest it on them for a few minutes.

I've reached out to a few custom shops and am waiting to hear back on their options.  In the meantime, I have ordered a Corbin Back Rest - (HD-PAK-ARM-14 Trunk Armrest for 2014 HD Tour Paks).

I'll update this thread when it arrives.

Thanks for the information.

I've reached out to several custom shops and most tend to want to have the bike in the shop, which I understand.  So I ordered the back rest from Corbin.

I now have a nice recliner.

And with the smaller back rest mounted to the seat.

I'm still interested in finding more of a custom set up, but this will have to work for now.

That is exactly what I want to do TIMUSA.  I'm planning a visit to an upholstery shop near me that offers some custom work.  Thanks for the image, that will help me show them an example.
