SE Leather trunk with Amp, is that standard?
« on: February 21, 2007, 11:02:02 AM »

Hey guys, I'm a newbe here and have a question for you.

Does the SE Ultra classic come stock with an amp in the trunk? I found one thread that mentioned the amp. Does anyone have pictures of this? The reason I ask is I'm looking at purchasing the SE leather trunk for my 07 Street Glide and found one that includes the amp and the speaker pods. I'm trying to determine "how much" this adds to the overall value of the trunk. As most of you know, these trunks are not cheap!

Thanks for any input you have!

Check out this thread - These are very cool.... It's about a member adding saddlebag spoilers with pictures, and you can see the amps on the tourpak really good.

Hey d00d where's your manners?  Sheesh.... !    Welcome aboard sortasuave (aren't we all?).

I wouldn't give it too much value for the amp, if the guy has it off he doesn't need it and most likely it's a pain in the ass to ad to your system anyway.  Hawg Tunes would do you better and if you really are just after the tour pak, bid it that way and forget about the amp.  If you get it within your value range great, if not you haven't purchased it for over price simply because the amp is there.

Sorta...agree with Rjob on the Amp.  It should be viewed as a "throw in" type thing.  It's not a terrible amp, and produces pretty good power and sound, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.  It actually mounts UNDER the tourpak, as the thread d00d directed you to shows, and you would surely need the wiring harness to get everything hooked up correctly.  He may "throw that in" as well.

Shhhhh... Don't give away my secret!  ;)

I think he parts things out for a living. I've had him on my watch list for some time but this is the first I had seen him offer SE parts. I'd look at the seat also, but I know it will work since I have the longer dash on my Street Glide. I like the dash more then I like the seat.

The amp is not a bad amp...it does more than an adequate job of providing tunes while I'm riding.  It does come with the SEUC's along with the rear speaker modules.  They are extra cost in the HD P&A book, in addition to the cost of the leather tour pak.  I would offer him a price of what you think is fair and he either accepts it or doesn't.  You're right, the leather tour pak is not cheap.

Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

Welcome sortasuave

I actually did not like the standard amp and went with Hawg Wired upgrade of amp and speakers. Do not have them installed yet.  A few people on this site did such upgrade and pretty happy.

By the way please post pictures of your ride.

Welcome!
