Blue Ridge Parkway trip
« on: August 27, 2021, 09:23:04 PM »

We finally got to do our BRP trip! Just got back to Ohio today. Couldn't get on it in between Cherokee and Asheville due to the storm that ragged through. So from Asheville north was good. You could still see some storm damage here and there but the road was passable. Stayed 2 nights at Little Switzerland. What a great place! Did the 226 loop while we were there. Boy you have to be on your game in some of those sections. My 13' CVO did everything I needed it to do with 2 up and fully loaded. Now to clean it this weekend.

Babe and I have been on the BRP since last Tues.  Not on a bike this time.

We're in the truck with out travel trailer.  Started in Cherokee and doing the full length north and then Skyline before we head over to hook up with Cam and do a day tour of DC.  We're staying in the campgrounds on the Parkway for two nights then a private campground (full hook ups) for a night, then back to the parkway.  Taking out time and exploring a lot, visiting all the little towns off to the side, etc.

08glide we got as far as Linville Falls then got on to 221 headed toward Kannapolis N.C. to see Dale Earnhardts statue and where he grew up. Next day was at Appomattox for some history and then homeward bound.

LOL, I've been saying that since 2003!  It is a little easier (but still very time consuming) if you have your photos hosted on a web site such as flickr, photobucket, etc.   Then you can flip them, turn them right side up, resize them, etc.

Lived in FL in 2018 and m\ng buddy put bike on auto train in Daytona and got dropped off in Layton, VA. We took a week riding back to Cherokee. Greatest trip!

Fast forward 2 yeas and I mved to Marion, NC. 13 miles to Linville Falls, 10 miles to Little Swizerland and 15 miles ot BRP.

If yu ever come this way again, make sure to take 80 off of BRP down to Marion (Devils whip) as good as 226A
