Heated Grip Throttle side end cap removal issue
« on: December 16, 2024, 10:52:32 AM »

My CVO has a chrome end cap on the throttle side. It will turn clockwise with finger pressure and become snug. I am trying to figure out how to remove the end cap, and tried spinning it counter clockwise, thinking it will unscrew and come off exposing the plug. Should it have vibrated off I have found my problem. But it doesn’t seem like un Screwing it removes it?
I started initially trying to pry it off with a thin metal jewelers tool at the seam.
I don’t know what method removes the end cap. Do you know from what I have done? It seems odd that it tightens up, but wants to turn out unlimited or am I not staying the course? The last thing I want is to unscrew something internally inside the handle bar and it just dangles and is hidden and unknown.

If I remember correctly, on my 2019 the cap popped off using a little pressure on both sides and gently prying it off.

Having a terrible time. End cap will not release. I ended up tearing some of thr rubber membrane that is pinched in place in the grip. I see a small screw in the inside center if the end cap. Before I pulled the cap would become tight fitting. Now it just keeps turning and there is wiggle room.
My objective is checking for a loose two pin connection in thr throttle grip as the heated grips do not warm up.
I have the accessory switch on, next to the cruise control rocker on the batwing panel. The number 4 is opposite the hash mark on the left grip.

How to get this end cap off. 2006 CVO ULTra.
