06 Air Cleaner and a Visit to Florida
« on: November 25, 2007, 03:09:38 PM »

I have and 06 FLHTCUSE.... it still has a stock air filter on it.

Any recomendations on what I should replace it with without having to do anything to the computer?

I will be Touring all over Florida over Christmas... any suggestions on where I should shop?

Thanks in advance!

You could replace the element only with a KN HD-1499. This will not require any remapping.

Some good shops to deal with in my area or surrounding that I know of are

Clermont Harley Davidson now known as Stormy Hill   first choice to deal with in central florida
Lakeland Harley Davidson
Treasure Coast Harley Davidson
Ocala Harley Davidson   (I believe Robmay has had some issues with this one, but thus far I have not.)
Gainesville Harley Davidson
Gator Harley Davidson

Ones I will not use:

Orlando Harley
Ormond Harley
East Orlando Harley
Kissimmee Harley
Space Coast Harley
Palm Bay Harley

Murphy,

StormyHill in clermont is not far from Orlando, Gator Harley is not that far from Orlando.    Wouldnt use any of the ones in Orlando.

Depending on where you are in the Daytona / Orlando Area will dictate which ones you choose to do business with.   Let me know if you need directions or routes or anything for this area.   I live in between Daytona and Orlando right off I-4.

A trip out to J&S fish camp and ride around Big O  is always worth the bugs...Spicey bolied Pnuts n Beer!
The Tiki at Riviera Beach Marina is a nice place for breakfast and the square grouper in Jupiter for beverages.

I'm down here in WPB...The local dealer is well....Any port in a storm I guess. They could be better now, I have not been in a few years.

PM me, I'll send my celly for you to ring if you wanna take a ride.

Amazing.  Somebody else here knows about the J&S Fish Camp. :o :)  I thought I was the specialist in the obscure and out-of-the-way.  And the Square Grouper?  Heck, I coached little league baseball with the bartender.  Great place with a superb view.  Right on the water across from the lighthouse.

I'll be a busy bee over Christmas and leaving for Dizzy World on the 26th, but if you guys arrange a meetup down here, say the week before, post it here.

About the Lake O lap--IMO, the best part is the northern arc, from Port Mayaca to Moore Haven.  US27 from Moore Haven to South Bay isn't my idea of fun--too much fast heavy truck traffic and nothing much to look at--just an undeclared Interstate.  The trip from Okeechobee (the town) to Sebring is much nicer.  Hwy 98 is easier and more relaxing--some pretty scenery and the town of Sebring is a neat, interesting destination.  They have a nice little bike event in October.

Or you can take Hwy 70 from Okeechobee to Arcadia for a taste of real forgotten Florida history.  You'll see the vast south Florida prairie and understand why the Old West happened down here, too.  Arcadia was a real shoot-em-up cow town back then, complete with outlaws and hangings.

I guess you can tell I'm not much of a Miami Beach type. :D

Your spot on about south from Moore Haven.  Old 98 up from wpb to the martin county lline ain't a picnic now either, the road is a pos and the cane harvest is in full swing, those crazy bastardo truck drivers are out thicker n love bugs in August.  Good idea, Annies 98 in Sebring has some fine dining.  Verne is a prince of a guy.  We gotta try and meet up somewhere, my new corbin solo needs breakin in!

Peace
