In fall of 05 ran into an Autum/Haze 06 CVO at my dealer and became intruiged - Didn't really know much about CVO's so I got online and searched - found this site, saw a pic of Dood's bike and my girl and I were done - we had to have a Pumpkin. Bought one on Ebay a few weeks later.

June 05 i bought a Black Cherry RK Classic....  very pretty bike, and fun to ride....

ended up renting a few EGlides here and there, and realized how cool the stereo was..

went looking for and bought a Quadzilla fairing.  While waiting for it to arrive, i did the math on paint, etc, and figured out i'd be better off buying a new Streetglide.

While searching for a streetglide, i stumbled onto a 'Nanner...  pretty, but not me.

Looked at a B/B on Ebay.... and missed.

Saw the redbike and fell in lust....

I missed an email on a 2nd chance buy at an awesome price for a red bike ( missed buying it by 10 minutes)

found one on the net and bought it that day in Iowa.

a few weeks later was the CC run, where i got hooked up with this crowd...been broke ever since LMAO

My first motorcycle was a heritage softail classic.  The wind and loud pipes got to me on longer rides.  Then I rented an Ultra to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway for 4 days.  Couldn't believe how much more comfortable it was, and even though I loved my Heritage (beautiful sand/teal), I knew it was time to upgrade.

I planned to get a standard Ultra, but couldn't decide on color.  Took the wife with me to choose a color, and she only liked the frosty white one.  I kept going back to the regular Ultras (for so much less money).  She finally said "You can afford it, it will be more fun to ride, buy the white one!"  The salesman was grinning from ear to ear, but so was I!  I'm still grinning!  :)

I went to the stealer to trade my Dyna and Roadster for a regular Ultra... CVO was parked beside.

We started it up and that was it.

When I went to pick it up I took a peak in the tour pack to see if everything was in there and wifey had placed a Happy 40th Birthday sign inside!

I was on my way to a house boat trip on lake powell and everyone in our group had to stop at the HD dealership in Williams AZ.  Not really in the market for another bike w/2 in the garage but, after seeing the 07 cherry/blk i had to have it.  Told the sales guy im going on a vacation if its still here on the way home i guess it will be mine..sure enough here i come off a house boat trip thinking they would have sold it by now...there it is looking right at me with a sold sign on the back my name.  That was the most expensive vacation ever !!!!

I hadn't owned a bike in 23-yrs. since 1983 when I sold my Suzuki '81 GS1100 after just getting married the first time.  How sad!  Those were different days back then as Harleys were not very reliable & I couldn't afford one anyway.  Never got bikes out of my system & started renting Harleys in '04 w/the first one being the V-Rod thinking that was the natural transition for an ex-rice burner.  It wasn't & then I rented an air-cooled Fat Boy & discovered what a Harley really was.

Long story short, I continued to rent through '06 & the plan was to purchase a RK Classic in spring '07 until I stumbled on the '07 SERK on the H-D website.  My justification was that I'd be selling my newer personal car since I was forced to take a company car w/my new job.  It already had a healthy monthly payment & then I saw the bike at a couple dealers in the fall of '06.  I fell prey to the thought that there might not be any left the following spring & took the plunge while my wife was out of town on business.

She came back & was used to my regular renting as there were many different Harleys in the garage for the weekends for several years.  I had to come clean & she was not very happy as she wanted to buy a condo in Chicago instead & was hoping for my financial contribution.  In retrospect, I'm OK w/the decision as the condo market has softened greatly since then.  Look how much I saved us by choosing the HOG as you can buy a condo pretty cheap now compared to then & all of those enjoyable 6,850 miles that were priceless.  Oh well, that's my story.
