Hey Cool,

I live in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  I think that's more than a little ride for you!  :)

It would be interested in to hear them together.  I don't know what the heck I'm going to do.  Have to make up my mind before the next bike trip because if I keep the Monsters I do need a re-tune.

My '06 has the 103"

Liquor??  A whole cabinet full.  Like bourbon?  Got some Jack, Maker's Mark and a bottle Eagle Rare that is mighty fine that I got it at my retirement party in April.

beeperman,

I just emailed V&H to see if they have a map for their FuelPak for the Monster Ovals.  Below was the response I received.  Good luck and let us know what you think.

Unfortunately the Monster Ovals are so new we are still in testing for the maps.

I have well over 1000 miles on my monsters and I absolutely love the sound. I rode my friends with the standard ovals and couldn't believe how raspy/crappy they sound to me. I guess sound is all a preference, but I really like the deep rumble and quietness when cruising of the Monsters.

For which year touring bike are they showing the map.  There isn't one for my '06 SE Ultra.

I have decided that I'm going to keep the Monster Ovals.  There really is nothing not to like about the sound and I'm getting use to the looks of the larger cans.  Besides, the wifes says they are the best sounding mufflers I've had on the bike.  And I've tried 8-9 sets.  So I better go with the wife on this one.   ;D  Everyone else that hears them also likes the sound.  I know from experience that mufflers sound different on different bikes.  Different on a 103" vs. an 88".  Different on a bike with true duals than one with stock headpipes.

I've got my bike scheduled for a re-tune of the PowerCommander next week.  The Monsters did make the bike run different as compared to the V&H regular ovals.

For anyone interested, Eastern Performance has a set of V&H Monster ovals on ebay for $624.95 with free shipping.  Ebay is offering a 10% discount until the end of June which leaves the cost at $562.50.  I just ordered 1 set and I see they have 1 more set for sale.  Seemed like a good deal to me!  Now I'm anxious to get them... :2vrolijk_21:

I think I posted this before, but I got mine from Mark at M&M Cycles for $585.  With shipping it came to $612.  Mark is a class act.  You will never find a better person to do business with.

but if you can get them for $562.50 with free shipping, that's a great deal.
