Folks, you need to read your owner manuals. Strangely enough, very often there is some useful information in those suckers.
The "parade mode" (Engine Idle Temperature Management System) is
not activated by rolling the throttle back when the engine is running and you come to a stop. The system is either turned on or turned off by following the protocol in the manual with the key on and the engine not running. Once engaged, it is an automatic feature that shuts down the rear cylinder only when all the conditions programmed into the system are met: zero throttle, zero speed, engine temperature above the threshold, etc. If you're on a ride and decide you either want to turn the system on or turn it off, you will need to pull over, shut the engine down, and then follow the instructions once again.
BTW, this is a big improvement over the original setup, which required you to have the dealer download a new calibration to the ECM if you wanted to either turn it on or turn it off.
