Corbin shows three seats that will Fit the RG.
« on: October 15, 2008, 08:48:42 PM »

Found this tonight.  My wife complained about the stitching in the rear passenger seat.  So I started looking..

I kind of dig the classic solo look with the passenger pillion and matching passenger back rest for the hd detachable back rest.

If you contact Corbin, you will find out that the seats they currently list on their website for the Road Glide are not for the CVO models. Here is a recent communication that I received from Corbin on 10/06/08:

Unfortunately, according to our technical department we have not had the opportunity to have a 2009 HD CVO Road Glide in our shop for Research and Development.  We are also unaware of any of our current parts that will crossover and fit perfectly with your bike.

I will also place a request with R & D to research this bike for future projects.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any comments or suggestions.

That's the one that got my attention as well. Could ride solo when the wife's not interested...

Do you think they will fit the SERG? The reps at Corbin have told me the 08 model Street Glide would not fit because of the new rear fender on the 09 SERG.

The past Dual Tours I have owened previously ride really well, after the inital break in.

Good eye Mike!

whats different between the SERG and the Road Glide as far as the seat position goes.  I would think that the mid section of the bike is the same.  No?

Put in a request for WHATTTTT???? Gezzz this must be the first request! Indeed!

That's the same crap they told me months ago.

I asked to speak with a member of their R&D department, the guy that responded gave me the same old story, basically we are still fishing for a free bike to design a seat around.

What a joke...

The R&D guy suggested I check back the end of October.

When I called sales in the Florida store a few days later, a guy with the same name as the R&D dude answered the phone........  I was suprised and asked "Didn't I just talk to you a few days ago about this....."

Well, I've done some more home work.  This may or may not help corbin.  The moco website list these two seats will fit the SERG and RG, I just picked these two because they would be the only two that I would consider, 51527-09 (Rallyrunner), and 52093-08 ( Deep Bucket Sundowner Smooth). I will call Corbin and try to speak to someone.  Since someone has tried FL, I will try the California office.

Ok, I called and they are still in R and D.  Apparently the dash is different and they are currently working on it.

And the Corbin is FUUUUGLY!  Can they make it look better.

Mike D.  What is the diff between the rallyrunner and the seat that comes with the SERG.  They are both gonna hurt your a$$!  With the sundowner I may not be able to touch the ground! :'(

That was just a plain sporty seat that had some support for longer rides (rallyrunner).  I feel your pain on the sundowner, although I'm too tall and it pushes me too far forward.

I think I tried a Sundowner on my other RG and the wife complained that she sat too high.  Or maybe that was the reach....

Corbin does make a solo classic for the 09 SERG. I know because I just put mine on. there designation is for the EG but fits both. Talk to Janice Alosi at corbin and she will help you. she sent me a bunch of skin samples for mine to choose from. I know, I know  :worthless:, pictures are coming

LarryB, it has been reported that the Corbin Classic Solo seating position is 1-2" closer to the handlebars than the stock seat. Is this your opinion too?
