Wonder why they need to order keyed ignition. The switch and locking device is seperate from the ignition knob which has the key.

Fork lock has nothing to do with Key, that is two seperate pieces. Something fishy here.

Check my V.I.N. on line with MOCO as per this post,  Not registered on line recall, but received my letter in the mail today...confused?

Finally got word from my dealer today. They want to pull the rim and check for some number that is on the rim. If it is a number of a recalled wheel, they'll have my bike for three weeks. I could not believe this, three weeks without a bike. What the f...! Summer has already sucked with it raining all the time and now, no bike. They said, if they determine that it is a recalled wheel, they have to contact the factory and wait for the wheel to come. That's what takes three weeks. They said that there's 125 rims that are defective. I guess I should be happy that harley is actually owning up to the problem and fixing it, but three weeks.

3 weeks is BS, I read the letter sent out by the MOCO, and if your bike has one of the defective wheels, HD will overnight a wheel kit to your dealer.

Maybe I didn't accurately describe the problem, the key wouldn't turn the switch which in turn wouldn't allow the forks to be locked.

Got mine back last night. Wheel checked out OK. They could not remember the specific cast code on my wheel but it started with an "M". Good enough! My sticky throttle they said was caused by the throttle mechanism having been pushed up the handlebar. Not sure how that can happen but it is fixed. They could not give me an answer yet on the seat issue. I am on the 2nd seat and it is worse than the first.  I asked them to pay attention to my engine noise...naturally it was one of the quietest they have seen or heard I should say. I have to say that the turn around time of one day was pretty nice. I still can't fathom why some service writers have to make you feel as if you are putting them out when you bring in your bike for warranty issues. Seems to me that we (the valued customer) are the ones who are being inconvenienced by having to bring it in for the problems. Having said that...I am on the road again and liking it...a lot!!!

Checked my VIN last week, my OB SERG is on the recall,  Took the Bike down to the Shop yesterday, they looked at it today....

My wheel is not on a recall!!!!

Got my letter today saying to get it in for an inspection.

Got my letter today...

Dealer is stupid backed up and I'm not really trusting the other dealer close to me.

I havent encountered any issues and hope I dont until my scheduled appt.

My dealer got a hold of me and I set up a appointment for Thursday. I will post the results after I get it back..................Fuzz

Rich, I have a build date of 4/09 and had a defective rim replaced via the recall. Good luck with yours.
