I agree (I've got #411) -- Had a non CVO Road King - spent almost as much as a CVO modifying it to please. Next purchased a CVO King and fell in deep love -- I had the gold leaf ltd anniversary 08' model!  Great bike, but now I'm 2-up a lot so jumped at the Blk Ultra.  Yes, lot of $.  No, I would not buy another non-CVO Harley -- Yes, I will buy another CVO.  Welcome, ride safe!

Own an '08 CVO Springer.  Just bought a Spiced Rum SG. Ran the same analysis you're doing. Love my Street Glide. You can't go wrong with the CVO brand.

IF your interested in resale, don't buy the CVO. I have a friend who is an employee,
and gets a new one every year. His last one was an 09 SEUC which he LOST
money on. He said he had no problem up until selling his 08. Before everyone
gets upset, just remember the market isn't what it used to be.
With his 20% employee discount, he lost over $1k on the 08, and almost
$2k on the 09. Prior to that, he rode them for a year and made a few k
on every one. For 2010, he bought the Limited, and knows it don't compare
as far as "chrome", but he feels he won't loose money on this one.

Like me I love my CVO, and I'll take the the loss in resale. Seems people
have to make there own choices. The bikes are what you want, not what
they cost. If you are concerned about what you win/lose, don't buy a motorcycle.
 Just my 2 cents!

Kaseykahnfan, IMHO I would go with the CVO. Buy the time you add some accessories, pay for them and the labor (unless you do  the work yourself )I think from a  strictly dollars and cents position the CVO is a better deal. Also If you have a dealership do the work you have downtime for labor appointments etc. I did the numbers carefully before I bought my 09 SEUC compared to a regulaur Ultra and eventhough it was about 12K more it made sense and I don not regret paying the  difference. Whatever your choice you will be happy. Just my 2 cents. CAHDBIKER

We all have been in the same position.  I just bought my 2010 seuc-blk.   No offense to others, But the black is definetly the fastest.  How do you think the flames got on it.  The friction caused by speed against the air spontaneously combusted and got stuck on the fenders then spread.  Now thats fast.

Thanks all,
Off to the dealer tomorrow to see what can be done.....Sometimes they say stuff over the phone that just isn't the same when you get there. I will most likely buy the CVO if the price is right but if that goes south I'm going to put a deposit on a 2011 Merlot. I'll let you know how it goes.

Go Kasey Kahne #9...Wonder what his number will be next year? :nixweiss:

Myself and the missus just finished up the epically fun SW GTG on a stock 96 inch classic, rental donchaknow...
I had to flog the poor old thing to keep up with the tuned 110's.

On the other side of the argument is that 10k is lots of gas, food and hotels...

I enjoy my 09cuse4 alot because it is silver, the fastest of the fast colors, is smoother and hides the dirt well.  ;D
I thought you kind of liked the pipes on your rental clacking chiken could hardly tell it was runnin. :huepfenlol2: It was great to meet you two we had a great time with the both of you. Hope to see you again soon. :2vrolijk_21:

Back to the fastest color thing seems to me the last few shooting/falling stars I have seen were GREEN in color and Green is the last color that is visible just prior to hitting wrap speed just ask any trekkie

I guess a "Green Bike" may be fast, only because when they see the black bike they turn green envy

If your friend sold the bike after a year of riding it for $1K less than he paid for it, he didn't really lose any money. It just cost him $1K to ride the bike for a year. I think anyone on this forum would be more than happy with a deal like that. If he purchased it, never titled it and stored it for a year and then sold it for $1K less, that would be a $1K loss.

People who think Harleys, Cobras, Porsches or Ferraris are collectors items and only go up in price are frequently mistaken. It's a supply and demand world. Demand makes the price go up, not being told something is rare, limited, or a collectors item.

I guess that's how the flames got on my Amber, too.  Only mine was going so fast, it burnt the paint...hence, the "Burnt Amber"   :huepfenlol2:

Very well said..... I agree, supply and demand, 15-20 yrs ago Harley's made you money after a couple years of riding. Now you pay to ride.... :nixweiss: :2vrolijk_21:
