New member, and NOW an owner....From WA

Hello all, I am a current owner of a 08 RKC, and am currently on the hunt for a FXR2 or 3. I have a few prospects, and am trying to get more info and figure out how to get it back home to me. Can someone direct me to a thread on "what to look for" and "make sure of this", etc, etc, when buying one of these bikes? I want to make sure I get what I'm paying for, and also want to make sure it has most if not all of the correct doodads that came with the bike. Were there any special items the owners got when buying one of these bikes? Keys, documents, etc? Thanks for any and all help you can give.

Welcome to the site glad to have you join us. :2vrolijk_21:

For best information on a FXR2/3 you should read some of the threads in this board - 1999 FXR2/1999 FXR3/2000 FXR4 and once you find a bike you are interested start a new thread in that board and if possible have some pictures of the bike you are looking at. Members will then be able to look at the bike and let you know what is missing, what isn't stock, etc.

Thanks firedood, I will start reading. I haven't narrowed my search down, as of yet, and am waiting for better pics of the bikes I am interested in. I was just hoping to get a few quick answers to assist me on my quest. Anyone had any experience with shipping a bike, or can tell me which companies come highly recommended? Thanks again, Jon

Some more reading for you... Go to this board - Other Topics and look in the top right hand corner for the search field, there put in "shipping" (w/o the quotations) and you'll get several threads (got five pages of hits) pertaining to shipping.
