Welcome from northern Illinois! At 5'-7" I would think you would be ok, but the only real test is.....Test ride/rental!

Hi Everyone,

I'm so ready to buy the 2011 CVO Softail; however, I have a question. I'm concerned about the height of the fairing. I' a female, 5' 7" and weigh 125 lbs and am concerned about too much buffeting from the wind. Can anyone provide advice on his or her experiences?

Thanks a bunch

I am thinking that you have several options if this is an issue for you.  If you like the bike and some of those options if it becomes an issue get it.  Last time I checked life is short and we should all have some pleasures in it if we can afford them.

Good luck with your decision.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! My CVO brothers speak the truth. Rent, demo ride, borrow a friends seems some test rides are in order since felt wind buffeting is subjective. Just to see how much wind you can deal with. Good luck.

The only CVO with a windshield that is 100% free from buffering is the Road Glide (fairing is part of body/frame), but then it is much heavier than the softail, duece, etc. Everybody else in correct....rent, borrow, steal before you buy. Welcome to the site.

Welcome from Oklahoma. Some good advise here. See if the dealer you want to buy from has a used softail with a similar windshield you can test ride. You may also try a Streetglide or an Ultra to see if you like one of them better.

i am 5, 6' and have ridden for the last 15 years a softail custom without a screen, on some huge interstate rides, with and without a helmet , the screen on the convertible is a perfect height so i am still wind in my face, a little chest protection and it means i can still hear the tunes from the fairing speakers, plus stripped down this bike looks unbelievable

WELCOME FROM CONCORD, N.C.  :2vrolijk_21: I agree with the rent, demo, or steal. Any way your decision goes involves big money. You need to be satisfied that you did what was right for YOU :coolblue:
