For what it's worth, I'm still on my stock battery that came in my 08 early in the year. That makes it 6 years and a couple of months old. Never been on a battery tender either. Just lucky I guess.

Good deal. :2vrolijk_21: I'm sure this super cold winter and the fact my detatched garage is not insulated didn't help the matter.

Before I had a heated garage to store the bike I would remove the battery and take it inside on tender.  Lasted about 5+ years.  Leaving it in the cold is hard on any battery.

Actually heat is much harder on a lead acid battery than cold if you're thinking in terms of longevity.  What cold does is reduce the rate of the chemical reaction that produces current, thus making it harder for the battery to meet the full requirements of the electrical system of the vehicle.  But once the battery is warmed up everything goes back to normal without harming the battery.  Vehicle batteries in tropical climates have significantly shorter average lifespans than those in temperate climates.  Ask anyone from Florida.

My 09-SG liked to eat the batteries up only got about 2yrs out of them.  Texas heat along with 103 kit I suppose helped do it.  Learned after the first one (left me stranded on Sunday) that when the first sign of cranking issues comes up replace it.

Just bought it about 8 minutes ago.  :2vrolijk_21:
You won't regret it.  Put same one in my '07 a year and a half ago.  Great battery and super value. :2vrolijk_21:

The past few years that I had my 94, FLHTCU I found that the HD battery did hold up few that  most aftermarket batties.
Until I tried the batteries fr Apex batteries off the internet. Be sure to ask for the highest CA you can get, and also insure the physical size for fit with them. :)

I usually just get a new scoot before I ever have to worry about a battery. Seriously anywhere but the stealer is good. I bought one at Batteries Plus for my old GS 1100 and it was less than $50 I think.
