While I have no idea what the performance was of your '05EG when it was tuned, I don't believe that you "didn't care what your numbers were" when you had it tuned. If the graph had shown you had 75hp and 75ft/lbs, you would have definitely cared, even if the bike ran great. And of course if they had shown you had 110/110 but the bike ran like crap, I'm sure you would have been pissed. However if the bike felt tremendously strong and dynoed at 120/120, I'm quite confident that those dyno #s would have been treated like they were written in stone

WELL SAID!

Joe just came back from Dynojet(flew to Nevada, from NY, on 1/20/12)to purposely have his stack verified to help end the constant mumbus.
It was fine, as was suspected. :)
Heatwaves total pulls on the "other" dyno, were a total of 22?
3 warm ups, and at least a couple back/back, verification pulls, once completed, that leaves 17 runs to turn both cylinders for fuel, and timing??
Hell, we can't even tune a carbed bike here, in 17 tugs.
The words that describe that are, "The V-Tune Quick-step, Two-step", or something as mystical, as the Prieure' de Sion.

A stack is only 1 piece of the puzzle.  There is the winpep software being at version 7 there is calibration of the drum to the software, there is air in the booth.   Just because the stack shows nothing wrong is only 1 small piece of the puzzle as far as it goes.   Winpep 6 alone will give almost a 10 hp difference.   Still the happiest dyno in america.

Guys, lets leave the happy dyno, sad dyno, calibrated dyno debate alone. This is Slackers thread on his build and results. He's happy that's what matters.............

Totally incorrect, on many of those points.

Absolutely.  The rest is hyperbole and points scoring for those so inclined.  That the guy spending the money is pleased is, in the end, the only thing that really matters.

Right!   :2vrolijk_21:

This has been an interesting read.  Thanks guys.  I now know you can't trust a dyno, unless you're mechanically informed enough to know whether it was tricked out or not.  Whew!

I would like to see Slacker's dyno on this build.  Or did I somehow miss that post?

Just like setting the eddy break current brake at 100-150 pounds when it is 50 lbs makes the software think its spooling up a much heavier drum than it is.

Anyone think i am wrong ask Doc or one of the other tuners out there.   Decide for yourself.

Fixed the spelling and sentence to make Scotty happy like the dyno.

Yes it has.  Once in awhile (too rarely probably) one of these discussions evolve and manages not to get stupid or devolve in to a yelling match.  This one stayed mostly sane.  Probably because it was mostly between members.  Much more that could've been said.  But, again, most important is that the end user is happy with his result.  If he's satisfied we all should be too.

What causes eddy to break?

Wow! This thread sure turned into a big debate about dyno philosophies.

Here's my 2 cents----

Once you get your bike back that has been tuned on the dyno of your choice take the bike to the track and give us your 1/4 mile times and speeds.

Dyno numbers are one thing but the 1/4 mile doesn't lie.

Slacker2, It's always great to see guys building power. Best of luck on your build. :2vrolijk_21:
