Good idea?  Well, he probably felt better.  Personally..................I think I would have bit the bullet and just sold the lap top to recoup expenses. That field he was in wasn't exactly tall cotton.

      Looks like daddy needs to grow up right alongside his daughter.  Being older is obviously not an indicator of maturity.

I think I'd have wiped the drive, reinstalled the operating system, and then either sold the laptop or donated it to a charitable organization.  Destroying it made for another "look at me, aren't I cool" opportunity for him, but I think I'd rather not lose the money AND make myself look like an idiot to millions of people all at the same time.

Maybe he can finagle his new fame into another "reality" show on cable.  Lord knows we need more shlock on TV.

The guy is a MORON, and he made an ass out of himself, and his daughter!  Its very simple, I have twins, a boy and a girl that are seniors now in highschool.  If they spend too much time on the internet, make stupid posts, or abuse that priviledge or any other, I just change the password on our home internet and bingo, no laptop internet or I-touch.  They screw up their computer with a virus, they find a way to raise the money to get it fixed, otherwise, we have a desktop at home they can use for their schoolwork.  From there we go to "no car", and they then have to find rides to and from school, soccer practice and anything else they want to do.  This always gets their attention if and when it gets that far.  I never take away their phone becasue that allows them to not respond when I am checking up on them or asking them where they are going.

I can understand how hurt the Dad probably was when he read this post. Probably or obviously he hadn't cooled down enough before posting his thoughts. But at least he did something instead of giving her a time out or calling some child psychologist to get help. They usually have more problems with there kids than the average family. JMHO

I think the whole thing is a hoax and a bunch of BS.  The guy is a college eductated guy that has a technical background and he can barely tie sentences together without stuttering smoking a cigarette and putting it out with his fingers.   Then he takes a 45 and points out that he's using hallow point bullets, but he doesn't even know how many rounds are in his clip?  A true IT guy would have used a squirt gun until the laptop started smoking    Either it's a hoax or DCFS should seek him out and perform a background check on the family?
