Opinions On New Front Fender
« on: December 06, 2012, 09:25:16 AM »

Putting a new Klock Werks Hugger Series fender on the 2010 Spiced Rum.  Before I send it out to Gun Slingers for paint, I'm wondering if I should pinstripe this fender or not?

I really want to show off the PM wheel, not the fender.  What do you think?

Keep it looking OEM, and have it pinstriped with the flames.

I'm adding the Klockwerks Slicer to mine, and it will be pinstriped to match the rest of the tins.  It ties everything together, and it's a subtle enough accent that won't distract the eyes from the wheel.

Also, there's no other piece of the bike that is a solid color...without the striping, it would look out of place.

Keep it looking similar to what was on your CVO fender.  Nice look...

Thanks everyone, I'm beginning to get the hint that pinstriping is the way to go.  I can't remeber the last time where I had this much consensus on a topic!

Thanks again for your thoughts.

Fish Eye, who is doing your paint work?

I was going to have Gunslinger do it, but they are so backed up now with regular production for MOCO.  They told me 6-8 weeks to turn around my parts.

There is a local painter here in Colorado Springs that I know thru a good riding friend.  I've talked to him a few times and he is able to order the 2010 Tequila Sunrise from the distributor.  All my parts go in on Monday - and he is anticipating a 2 weeks turn around.  The name of the shop is Fat Boyz.  They also are the only custom painter in town, and the Pikes Peak Harley Davidson uses them exclusively as needed.

It's a lot of work though, so I am thinking closer to 3 weeks - Inner/Outer Road Glide Fairing, Road Glide Nacelle, headlight bezel, Klockwerks Fender, and touching up my slider covers and my saddlebag latches.

And when he's done, my CVO Street Glide will be a CVO Road Glide...  :orange:

Thanks, that explains why Gunslingers is so slow to get back to me on this.

Yeah...Kent has moved (temporarily, as I understand it) to the production manager position for CVO production.  Shauna is filling his old role for collision/3rd party work.

They are also expanding the facility to a new building...they've been asking people to wait until after the new year, if possible, which is when the move occurs.

They do great work, and offered to follow thru on the agreement I had with them to bring my parts in sooner, but the turnaround was too long.  Plus with a move, I hated to chance any accidents to my parts during the move.

Get your fender painted yet?

I also used a Klockwerks fender and had the fender painted similar to stock, but more to my liking. On my bike I prefer the lighter red over the dark paint.
