  • Scaramoosh! Scaramoosh! Can you do the Fandango?

    • CVO1: '13 FLTCUSE8

I've decided to cancel all plans for Xmas and dump it all into this auction.  Screw giving presents to others;  I want this kit!  Plus, it'll give me a good excuse to buy a new bike with a 96 or 103.  :mango: :carrot: :cucumber: :pineapple:  :orange:

Couple questions:  When is the drawing?  Does this kit require splitting the crankcase, or is it a slip in unit?  I'd look it up, but I'm going to be too busy returning all the presents I bought for Xmas.  :)

Count me in.  Give me a couple days to see if I can scrape together enough $ for a few thousand tickets.

Dan

BTW, will you adopt me just in case I have a life crisis in the future?

You guys make me smile.  It's all bolt on.  No splitting the cases.  Just top end work.  So it's an easy weekend job if someone wants to do it.  In fact I'll butter the bread even more.  If the winner is within range of me I'll install with them some weekend if they buy half the beer.

With the parts supplied here someone will still need a few extra parts.  Cams obviously.  A set of adjustable pushrods.  Maybe a clutch accessory of some kind to avoid slipping.  Not much else though other than a Tuning package of some kind if one isn't already in hand.  Though.... that may be being taken care of but yet another generous site member.  Just waiting for a few more details on that before adding to the description.

When is the drawing?

Ooops, missed that first time through.  I was instructed by our generous benefactor to keep this going until 15 January.

Just for the impact of it I'm hoping we have good response by Christmas only so that the kids can be given some more good news for Christmas.  But the instructions with the gift is that it runs to mid January.

I'm in for one "pin" on each drawing.

Quick question, is labor and installation included, and would this make Susan's Street Bob run faster?   :leer:

Total in so far on this great bunch of parts is:   $225.

That's nine tickets.  Good odds for those in far.

Had further contributions today.  Another of our own added a set of Feuling tapered adjustable pushrods.  That's a good addition to this parts package.  I'll edit the original description accordingly and make it part of this package.

Yet another of our fine crowd is adding a tuning package.  The EMS tuning kit from Revolution Performance.  Am thinking we'll handle this package differently.

The kit being so generously contributed is the 604-003 kit.  Fits 2008 model touring bikes.  The engine parts obviously work over a wide range of years.  So the kit should be offered as a stand alone package.  Our audience here is small enough, however, that I think the EMS kit will be offered on eBay instead.  Larger audience of people with 2008 bikes and likely a more productive effort.

Thanks again to everyone who is helping this fund raising effort.  It is tremendously appreciated.

This effort shifted in to reverse today.  A contributor contacted me explaining he'd had some unexpected expenses of his own.  That was no problem.  Don't want anyone feeling a pinch themselves by contributing here.  Everyone's own family comes first.

This takes us back to three tickets.  $75 in the kitty on this one far.

Really surprised here too.  Expected these parts would get quite a bit of attention.  They are good pieces.  Just the heads could be put to use on most of the bikes here and they're close to $1500 to go buy a set.

I expected some of the crowd would try chances on this as a potential profit tool too.  This stuff should turn on eBay for $1500 or so.  If someone bought eight tickets they might easily have a 1 in 10 or so chance of winning the parts.  Then could turn the parts on eBay for 6x to 8x the original investment.  That's better than we'd do playing the ponies.

I understand the concern and the questions it could raise.  So if anyone, publicly or privately has any reservation I won't participate.  If no one complains, however, I'd play those odds for that return.  Will wait a few days before buying tickets myself to give anyone a chance to voice a dissent.

Another set of engine parts has just been contributed to add to this collection.  We may not be generating much money so far but it's becoming a hell of a set of parts.

I'll edit the original post accordingly but the latest addition is set of Feuling 574 gear drive cams and an S&S gear drive kit for 07 and newer bikes.  With the other parts originally with this offering or contributed later these cam chest parts make for just about a complete engine job.  Just a guess but this is probably another $700-750 worth of parts added to this offering.

Can't believe no one wants some of these parts for Christmas  :nixweiss:

May have a change in plans in this offering soon.  Will wait a few days to see if activity picks up.

Have spoken with the gent whose bought two tickets and he's fine with bailing.  The other single ticket is from a site member whose also a local buddy.  I'm guessing he'd be fine with a change of tactics too.  But will confirm before making any change.

The cams and gear drive kit came with latitude to handle as seemed best.  The pushrods' donor responded he's fine with that too as has the donor of the original heads and big bore kit.  There's also a Daytona tuning kit and a Revolution Performance EMS tuning kit that are inbound and they've been donated with latitude to handle them as seemed best too.  So.....

I thought as a collection this would get some real action.  Seems I was wrong (it happens).  Hoped offering the parts to the family here would allow some the opportunity to score some good stuff for a cheap price.  Whether it be due to time of year or lack of interest in the parts, however, nothing much has happened.

That being so will let this rest here another few days.  If we start seeing some activity that's cool.  If not will break the set up and begin selling the parts on eBay or elsewhere to maximize what can be got for them.  Final buyers will end up paying a lot more than a ticket price to bring them home.  But need to do something to better relate their income to value.
