We need rain here badly!  High temps, no rain, the corn and soybeans are really getting stressed and so am I!  The highlight of my day is watching 2K's avatar bounce around!

I wish we could send you some of ours, Cowboy! This is absolutely the wettest summer here that I can remember.

Our pool had actually gotten about 2" LOW, believe it or not, and I was going to add some water to it yesterday morning. But after last night's rain, it's now full... and I can see where the overflow drain let some out overnight.

Poor Mrs. NGH got into ATL last night about 9:30, and had to drive the 50 miles home in the pouring rain. She got home a little after 11, and we had a drink or two together. 

It's actually a beautiful and sunny day (so far) here today. I should get in a ride while I can!

I road yesterday and when I stopped at lights or slow moving I had to pull over to wipe the sweat from my eyes.
My shirt under my leathers was soaked. I'll tell ya it's way nuts. Not that I'm complaining, I can't see this lasting for too much longer Unless this year is going to be an exception

Pete - I was in England in the summer of '93, or maybe '94. I remember that it was scorching hot, and of course our rental car did not have A/C. We went out to see Stonehenge and the stone circle at Avebury over one weekend, and sweated our butts off! We stopped and cooled our heels at a couple of Wiltshire pubs on the way back to Winchester, and thoroughly enjoyed some fine English Bitter! 

Funny little story: The owner of one of the pubs looked at us as we walked in and said "Must be our week for Americans!" before we had uttered a word... he just knew.  I asked him how he had pegged us as Americans, and he replied very matter-of-factly, "Well, your facial structure is different, higher cheekbones, and your complexion is different... But MOSTLY it's because you DON'T have that hopeless, downtrodden look about you!" I swear that's an exact quote! Good Times!

Well, here we go with the RAIN again. We're leaving for a little 4-day mini vacation trip to Asheville, NC today. We WERE excited about riding up there and riding around in the beautiful NC mountains.

THAT'S not going to happen with this latest round of RAIN and MORE RAIN forecast for Asheville virtually the entire time we'll be up there.

Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa hasn't had hardly any rain since the end of June.  The next few days will be make or brake time for the corn and soybean farmers.

Southern Missouri has flood warnings all over and we can't buy a rain!!
