It looks like they are ducting the heat from the lower fairing radiators under the bike and out through large ports on the back of the bike on each side of the bike between the fender and the new saddlebags.

I saw that and wondered about it too.  I need some "hands-on" time, or better pics.

Maybe the newly designed steering head with stiffer front forks is in response to the numerous complaints about the infamous "death wobble"?   :nixweiss:

Chip

Looking at the HD video the saddlebags do not look as "rounded" as in some of the early pics.  What's your take since you've seen em?

Got a pic of the inner fairing?

I was at my dealer today and saw a 2014 Street Glide Special... It was in the Whiskey Orange colour and those like orange will love it!

Hate the vent in the fairing.
Love the new bags and how they open and close with one hand.
Do not like the inner fairing setup at all... Kind of reminded me of the Godzilla fairings.

With more negatives than positives and no CVO colours that excite me I still love my '08 Duracell.

Better luck next year Mother Harley.

Probably!  I'm sure they read what is said on the forums, at least people the employees of Moco and it filters back.  Sounds like a nice improvement.  I'll be installing some fork cartridges in mine soon. :)

After looking at these more closely I believe they are LED Turn signals on the Limited Ultra.

Thanks for pic.  Still not liking it too much.  Not sure I like having a display in that area to distract me anyway.  As I get older, it takes me longer to shift my focus.  I assume most of the radio functions can still be done by handlebar switches.

Agree on the vent and the inner fairing.  Do the bags look like what we are use to or have they changed (rounded) significantly?

Yes the bags are quite different.  More rounded (dare I say Yamaha like) but appear to be bigger... Wider, but then they have to be to avoid hitting the darn latch catches on the inside when putting your items in.  They must have rounded them to blend with the new rounded TourPac.

Even with what some would call faults, the bags are easier to open and close with one hand.

I have run over 120 MPH on the Honey Badger with NO problems. How much more, I don't know... since the speedo tops out at 120... but I run Traxxion Dynamics AK-20 cartridge forks.

Don't think I would try that with the stock '50s-tech damper rod forks. Hopefully the new 2014 steering head is better...

Harley Davidson does utilize feedback from a "Customer Advisory Panel" which then send out online surveys to on a regular basis asking all sorts of probing questions pertaining to their products. the parts they use and motorcycling in general. One recent survey was heavily weighted towards suspension and tire questions so if things hold true to form the feedback that was presented by their panelist may have some impact on what we see from them down the road. Believe it or not they do understand today's economy and care about their customer base as they prepare for the future.

Me too Stu!  That is the one upgrade that I wish my MC had in the fairing!   :2vrolijk_21:

I guess it is nice to have all of the functions (radio, nav, etc.) in a single touch screen system.  What I did like about the "old" tacked-on Garmin nav unit was that you could remove it and use it in "walking" mode.  Made it much more useful.  I'd be willing to bet the touch screen doesn't detach.... ;)

Very good point!  I guess that's the trade off, but I think it would be great if it came out and you could put a face plate to fill the void & protect the contacts.  I do like being able to remove my Garmin and use it in another vehicle.  Oh, well you can't have it all! ;D
