Anyone ride their scoot through the McDonald's (or other take out) drive-thru?  How to they react?  Do they make you park and go inside?  I've never tried it.

I do it all the time -- some pay no attention -- others like to talk about the bike or their desire to ride or what they ride -- nobody has ever refused me service

I'm not aware of any "rule" that says an establishment will only serve people in a particular type of vehicle.  I've actually seen people on foot use the drive through btw, as well as drive through ATM machines and bank windows.

One negative I can think of is where you intend to place the food and drinks so you can ride away from the window.  If you have a BSR it may work, otherwise it could be rather dicey.

I have never seen anything about any problems with a scoot in the drive thru, but have seen several signs in Colorado against foot traffic, due to safety concerns. Taco Bell for one.

i've done it before.  the way i did it was to dismount when i got to the window (hard to dig for cash when you're sitting down).  then i placed the drink in my cupholder and the bag in my saddlebag.  mount up and ride off.

i had read, years ago, of an establishment that would not allow bikes through the drive in due to safety concerns of the rider trying to balance a drink, bag of food, and operate the bike.  didn't go into more detail than that, whether it was all bikes, or just his (no bags, etc)....

i don't like to use drive throughs on a regular basis anyway, they always screw up my order

as far as placing the food and drinks -- most of the time the food gets stuffed inside of my jacket -- if I do get a drink, it goes between my legs.

if I have to get a lot of orders - I do go inside and bring the drinks out in a carrier which goes in my tour pack

Just be cautious/aware of where you place your feet while stopped... any areas where multiple cars stop (drive-thru's, toll booths, stop signs/lights, etc.) can leave oil deposits on the surface... just be aware and watch where you place your feet so you don't slip and also so you don't pick up any oil on the bottom of your shoes/boots and then place them back on your floorboards/footpegs.

Never rode mine through a MickeyD lane, but I do use the Bank drive through a lot.  They don't really seem to notice.

Never said anything when I went thru the drive thru...they did say something when I tried to pull it inside one time!

Yep, bank,burgers,Walgreens, don't usually get a drink if riding alone. With BSR everyplace is easy peezy. I agree with watching out for extra oil, grease, can be tricky.

My daughter and I ride through McD's drive thru quite often. Our Sunday morning ride group meets at a large retailers parking lot every Sunday morning in the summer and it is a short distance from McD's. We ride through on our way to meet up for the Sunday ride and eat our breakfast burritos in the parking lot. She sticks the drinks between her legs and holds the food bag. It works good and yes we always get at least one "are they crazy" look from the 4 wheelers!!

X2 used to use it, but as you say too many screw ups
