Had this same problem with my 660....removed the 4 GB memory card, then Garmin Express loaded map 2015.10
However, My 665 loaded the map just fine with 8GB memory card in the unit.

Might just be an issue with 660 :nixweiss:
For what it's worth, I asked Garmin support if I could use my 16GB card in my Nuvi, and they said they didn't support cards larger than 8GB in any of their units. My 16 worked for a long time so I'm pretty sure they've introduced the problem in a recent software update.

BaseCamp is not bad, I still haven't figured out how to drag routes like we used to with MapSource.
Couldn't previously but the current version has an 'insert' tool bar icon that will let you click on the active route and drag it.  The icon looks like the sharp point of a pencil with a '+' sign to the left of it.   :2vrolijk_21:

I am starting to really like Base Camp...a bit of learning curve.  This youtube video really helped me.

Thats a great video and makes sense when you watch it. My question is if you go off the route you are following will it "self correct" with next turn info to get you back on the route?

Well that all depends.  The Zumos have a 'recalculation' feature which can be set to 'auto' or 'prompted' and if you choose the latter you can recalc or not as you wish.  But if you do recalc the gps device would take you to your next 'waypoint / via point' and may or may not get you there as the original route would have.  It is looking for either 'faster time' or 'shorter distance' depending on how preferences are set on your device and also taking in to consideration any 'avoidances' you may have selected.  I always select 'prompted' recalc since I have learned that deviating from a route say for gas or food could result in taking and entirely different road if I let the unit recalc.

Garmin has some videos also but this guy blows them out of the water.  This is one of the best instructional videos I have ever seen - clear, concise and to the point.  The guy has a great voice for narration and there are no stumbling ohs, ahs, ers, etc.  All in all a great job and very informative.   :2vrolijk_21:

The "Insert into Route" is also available via the right click menu.  It allows you to insert shaping points, or to drag the route over a waypoint and it will add that to the route.  It really works pretty slick now.

I've really warmed up to Basecamp since the release of the 4.3.x version.

Another problem I encountered in map update to 2015.1.  When I installed on my computer then BaseCamp would not load.  Got error message "missing file MSVCP120.dll."  Fortunately I called Garmin and they were familiar with this error - beginning to sound familiar.

So the fix was to uninstall BaseCamp, then go into Windows Explorer into the 'C:' drive, into the folder 'Program files (x86)', into the Garmin folder and delete the entire folder named 'BaseCamp'.  The went to the Garmin website 'garmin.com/basecamp' and reinstalled BaseCamp.  Works fine now.

I suggest creating a 'restore point' before doing this just in case you need to go back.

But geez this is starting to be a pia!

Yep, same thing happened to me, I didn't mention it because I thought it was just something peculiar to my computer.

I called tech support as I could only download canada and the northern states not the full North American map, they told me to take out my 16gb card and install a 8gb I was able to load the update after that no problems. I used to use google maps to select routes then import them into the 665 but now it doesn't seem to work. Basecamp well I need some more training on that one

tried to follow what this guy was doing, and it seemed to work okay but for some slight variances, but the big thing that i notice that after selecting my start and end points, and letting garmin creat my route, it just did a beeline from point a to point b (as the crow flies...)  i tried to use the insert tool to edit the route as he did, but seems like basecamp doesn't necessarily want to keep me  on the road.  whats up with this?  obviously, i'm doing something wrong, and i do have basecamp set for motorcycling....

attached is a pic to illustrate what i mean.

When you start the 2015.1 install @ Garmin Express it first tells you that you do not have enough space then clearly says to install a micro SD card, no smaller than 4Gb and no larger than 8. I have done mine and a friends and no problems with the 8GB and I installed the united states and canada.

Appears to me that the activity profile must be set for 'direct routing.'  I would double check that.
